My hand drawn rendering of Josef Albers is made with Graphite Pencil on professional artist paper. Framed and ready to hang, all supports supplied. Inspired by Albers’ ideas about colour theory and how everyone sees colour differently and that colour is the most relative medium in art. Albers shows us how the colour field is a signifier of human emotion, and helps us make sense of what we see. I would argue that although this may be true, it does not negate the power of drawing as a signifier of human emotions. Seeing and drawing edges, spaces, relationships, light and shadow is a visual perceptual skill which equates colour theory.
